Management consultant helps skater improve chances of going to Games
A LONG-DISTANCE skater from Dartmouth is using personal assessment tools designed to help businesses in his effort to make the Canadian Olympic team.
"There are a lot of parallels between the business world and elite sports," said Andrew Godbout in an interview from Calgary.
Mr. Godbout, 29, skated with the Dartmouth Speedskating Club as a youth and competed in the 1999 Canada Winter Games, where he was named top Nova Scotia male competitor. Read more

Large Regina Company Goes with PI –" Young’s Equipment" of Regina, SK top employers.
Tim Young GM of Young’s Equipment in Regina, SK recently brought the PI management program into this large Case IH company. Tim’s team were all trained in PI in October and now using PI to manage, coach and grow their business. They see a significant return from having the onsite PI instructor work with their management team to learn and grow. Congratulations to the new PI certified analysts at Young’s Equipment!

Presidents Club Award meeting in California a huge success
Each year our top managing principals are selected to spend time in a secluded geography for more in-depth training and development. This year the trip was to San Francisco and then to the Meritage Resort in Napa Valley. The group included David Osborne, who covers the Maritime provinces , John Lobraico who covers Greater Toronto and Bob Woodcock who covers the Oakville region. The group enjoyed a guest lecture by Scott Lappin from our PI San Francisco offices and were able to also send some time visiting local sites. Congratulations to this year’s Presidents Club winners.

Well the winning Predictive Success team received their cup at Coppinwood Golf Club in Uxbridge, ON with Managing Principals from the left Bob Moore, Bob Woodcock, and John Lobraico taking the cup this year. The trophy was presented by Al (3rd from left) in the PRO shop at Coppinwood to the group. The day caps off another most successful year of growth for our clients and our business in what was a challenging economic year. We look forward to another year of fun and growth for all!

World’s most admired companies 2009 - These companies all have taken innovation to the next level. We are happy to also mention that in this group, Disney, Marriott, Exxon all are Predictive index clients…. The Marriott Reservation Center has recently been flagged as one of the best managed call centers in the world in Saskatoon, Regina, in not what you may think of as a place for innovation. Last night I was very fortunate to have had the chance to share an hour with the renowned Canadian and author of the Canadian Establishment one of the top selling business books of all time in Canada , Mr. Peter Neumann, This was another great networking event for the EO group at the Thomson Gallery in Toronto.
Peter spoke about the future of Canada and spoke with passion that we must be more proud to be Canadian. We need to have more risk taking to work our way out of the mess we are in.
He spoke highly of Obama and also likes the new leader of the Canadian liberal party and stated that Stephen Harper will never reach a majority because he "cannot connect" with the people in particular he will not look ladies "in the eyes" . Peter is a wonderful man and owner of the Order of Canada ( see his lapel pin), thanks to the EO group for securing such a wonderful speaker! Well done Lori!
On a fun note: The gallery had a great AY Jackson painting in it for $175,000 that is a steal in the present market and sure to be worth twice that in 3 years!!! It was a lot of fun and I thank Lori from the EO office for shooting this shot, I will treasure it.

It is with great pride that at our annual Christmas dinner last night, on behalf of Predictive Success, I had the opportunity to announce our new 2009 Predictive Success Scholarship Program: The John Watson Leadership Award.
This award has been established to recognize and foster outstanding character development, creative leadership, active citizenship, and academic consistency in students entering post-secondary education. This scholarship will honour clients of Predictive Success and/or Certified PI Analysts, as we share the importance of education. Direct relatives (child or legal guardian status) of Predictive Success clients and/or Certified Analysts are welcome to apply. The successful applicant will be awarded with a one-time scholarship of $3000 for use in the 2009-2010 academic year.
This scholarship will launch January 1, 2009. Applications will be available on our website, www.predictivesuccess.com, with a deadline April 30, 2009, for application submittal. Please share this exciting news with your clients, contacts, and colleagues.
It is important, especially as we grow and position ourselves in the marketplace as an academic business, that we give back to the community. This scholarship enables us to do just that, as well as continue to strengthen the relationship with our clients.

10/29/08 PI® is now officially launched in Yellowknife.
The photo of Doug McCann and a rock statue is actually an inuksuk. A very traditional symbol for native Canada. The word "inuksuk"; is an Inuktitut word meaning "to act in the capacity of a human"and comes for the word "inuk" which can be translated as "human being". They are monuments made of unworked stones that are used by the Inuit for communication and survival. The traditional meaning of the inukshuk is "You are on the right path." They are meant to help lead and have thus become symbols for leadership. I was able to get him to do a PI® for me, turns out they are often authoritative sales management profiles but he was a little hard on himself for the self concept (get it? stone sculpture, hard on himself.) Team Predictive Success hosted its first" Watson Cup" and Joe Rossi, from PI Worldwide in Boston joined the winning team. The event was held at Coppinwood in Uxbridge, ON
Predictive Success selected by NCAA Men's Varsity Hockey University of Maine.
Coach Tim Whitehead, Head Coach of the Maine Black Bears selects Predictive Success to be his new tool to be used to help select, coach and manage his student athletes and his team towards their first national championship. Coach Whitehead moved to Predictive Success from another tool to allow his team to accelerate the "on boarding" of new teammates and to be able to understand who should play in certain critical on ice situations. Watch out for the Maine Black Bears as they move towards the NCAA finals this year! We are happy to have Dave Osborne in our Halifax office work with the coaching team at the University of Maine one of the top men's hockey teams in North America. They have produced several players to the NHL!
