PI® Validation Studies
Since it was founded in 1955, the Predictive Index® (PI®) system has been helping managers to more effectively recruit and lead their organizations. In order to continue providing a program with high standards of quality and practical use, it is necessary to carry out continual tests to evaluate the system. With our national presence in all provinces and in both official languages we have completed validation studies to stay current in the market . We have delivered and studied millions of personality surveys in over 55 years of use by business around the world.
These validity tests help to ensure that the PI system remains reliable, accurate and free of bias and are possible because of the scientific credentials of the system.
Since it was founded, over 400 validity studies have been undertaken on the PI system across a range of jobs, industries and countries. These show clearly the accuracy of Predictive Index and the unbiased nature of the system towards race, sex or age. Our survey is even available in Braille.
All tests and development on the system are in compliance with guidelines from the US Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). Validity Studies are undertaken by Dr Todd Harris, Director of Research at PI Worldwide and are offered to all Predictive Success clients under license. The Government of Canada HR group, Service Canada, now endorses the use of validated assessments for employee selection. Predictive index is one of the most validated instruments in North America.
