Behavioural intelligence for the moments that matter

Introducing behavioural intelligence
The right words, yours for the moments that matter.
Meet Obi, PI’s behavioural intelligence AI. It is grounded in 70 years of PI’s behavioural science and your organization’s actual data, not generic advice.
What is Objective Behavioural Intelligence? It’s Obi.

Obi in action
One tough conversation, three different people
A manager needs to give tough feedback to three people. Here is what happens in PI2, screen by screen.

1Open Obi from anywhere in PI2Ask Obi sits in PI2’s top bar. The panel opens beside your work, with quick-start prompts to get going.
2Ask in your own wordsType the question and @-mention the people it is about: “I need to give tough feedback to Pamela Coleman, Lisa Hendrix and Irene Anderson. How should I approach each conversation?”
3Obi answers for each personA plan for each conversation, read from each person’s behavioural drives, with an opening, the discussion and a close. For Pamela, a Captain: “Lead with the outcome and observable behavior, then give them room to shape the correction.”Scroll the panel to read Obi’s full answer.

Real screens from PI2’s demo account, with demo employees. Obi is in beta.

Behavioural intelligence for the conversations that need to go right
Three of the prompts managers start with. Copy one and ask Obi in PI.
Before coaching
“Based on my PI profile, what is my natural coaching style, and where might I have blind spots when supporting managers with different drives?”
Before tough feedback
“Prepare feedback for an employee. Ask who they are, then build a tailored playbook for what to say, what to avoid, and how to handle defensiveness.”
Before a conflict conversation
“Help me build a playbook to address the friction between two employees, including management strategies that might help.”
How it works
Tailored coaching for every conversation that counts
Plain language in, personalized guidance out. No special syntax and no separate workflow: a playbook with the right words.
- 1You describe the momentType a prompt about a person or a situation, usually to prepare a manager for a conversation that counts.
- 2Obi draws on your organization’s dataPI describes Obi as a private AI that knows your people’s behavioural data, understands your organization’s context, and respects every PI permission.
- 3You get a playbook in secondsA behavioural playbook you can hand off with confidence, grounded in how that person actually thinks and works.
- 4Your manager has the right wordsManagers walk in equipped for the moment, so conversations move people forward instead of keeping them stuck.

Prompt library
HR’s coaching, in every manager’s hands
Browse by type of conversation. PI built its prompt library from how early users actually work with Obi; these are our versions, ready to copy into Obi.
Tailor feedback to the person receiving it
I have feedback to give an employee and I want it to land. Ask me who they are and what the issue is, then build a playbook for their behavioural pattern: how to open, what words to use, what to avoid and how to handle defensiveness.
Polish feedback I’ve already written
I’ve drafted feedback for an employee. Ask me who they are, then help me rework the draft for their behavioural profile: keep the message, but adjust the framing, pace and tone where their pattern is likely to push back.
Give feedback up the chain
I need to give feedback to someone senior to me or outside my team. Ask me who they are and what the issue is, then build a playbook that respects the relationship and fits their drives, including what to say first and what never to say.
From PI’s research
Managers who used PI’s behavioural science in their daily communication were 49% more likely to rate their employees as ready for promotion.
HR can’t rely on AI that doesn’t understand their people.
As PI describes it, Obi is not built on a public model or trained on the open internet. It is grounded in your PI data, your organization’s context and 70 years of PI’s behavioural science.
- Your conversations are private.PI states that nothing you ask Obi is visible to your manager, your colleagues or anyone else in your organization.
- It knows your people, not hypothetical ones. Its guidance is built on the real behavioural data of your employees and the context you provide, not generic advice.
- Your data stays in your organization.According to PI, conversations stay inside your PI account and never train outside AI models.
- You make the decision. Obi informs it.Every answer is a starting point for your judgment. No AI makes people decisions here.
Questions about Obi
Obi and PI’s AI: what people ask
PI’s answers, in brief. PI also says it is open about how its AI works, so you can use it with confidence.
Is Obi available now?
Yes. PI has opened Obi to all existing and new PI customers, in what PI calls an open beta. Ask us how to switch it on for your organization.
Can others in my organization see my prompts, or what I share with Obi?
No. PI states that each person’s conversations are private to them and are not visible to administrators, managers or executives.
Can Obi be set up with our company’s goals, culture and strategy?
Yes, if you want it. Organization administrators can add organizational context in the PI Assistant settings. It is optional.
How is PI’s AI different from general tools like ChatGPT or Gemini?
PI uses third-party AI models, but it directs them to draw on PI’s curated library of research rather than the open internet, and to follow a PI rubric, so the guidance stays aligned with PI’s science.
How does PI keep the guidance accurate and aligned with its science?
PI describes two steps: the AI is grounded in PI-validated science as its source of truth, and every answer is checked against a formal PI rubric for accuracy. PI also notes that no AI is perfect and recommends checking answers.
Is our employee and customer data safe when we use PI’s AI?
PI states that existing PI permissions are fully respected, so the AI never shows anyone information they could not already see; that your data is never used to train third-party models or shared with third parties; and that it is protected under PI’s data standards, including GDPR and SOC 2 compliance.
Does the AI replace human decisions?
No. Obi suggests and people decide. PI states that the final decision always stays with the person, and that using the AI is always optional.
Can the AI make mistakes?
Yes, occasionally, as with any technology. PI monitors answers against its rubric and advises a quick review of every response.
PI publishes its security and privacy certifications in its Trust Center.
